• Best value NP program The FAU adult gero NP program is definitely one of the best in the south Florida area in terms of quality and value. It's a state school so tuition and costs are much lower than private programs. They will eventually find you a preceptorship (although it can be last minute). If you have your own contacts for having a preceptor, they will generally accept it with no issues. They allow some specialty hours in preceptorship and I used my prior clinical contacts for this. Overall, I highly recommend FAU's NP program. - Alum
• NP program review My experience that FAU was fairly good. If I needed to make a complaint, it would be that I had difficulty finding eligible preceptors. The school was unable to assist with that. The professors were reasonable and realize that work in school are often a difficult combination. - Alum
• Good program I went back to school as an adult learner, I was in my late 40s, involved in nursing for over 25 years, but was not always the best student academically. It was extremely intimidating because I needed to work full-time to maintain my household and also I was nervous about online learning in some of the courses. The course load was manageable, and I was able to work full-time throughout the program, although they discourage this. i survived because of the support from my teachers and fellow classmates. - Alum
