- BSN to DNP at UTHealth Houston UTHealth Houston was a rigorous but supportive BSN to DNP program. The classes were very interesting and insightful. Professors were busy but reachable and friendly. The best part was with clinicals and career after school. They helped me secure clinical spots if I could not find one on my own, which I hear is a rarity. Going to UTHealth and engaging in the school and their programs helped me lock in an amazing career. I highly recommend this school and program, it is not easy but by approaching it in a calm manner and doing your part, you will receive a great education that will be valuable to your career. - Alum
- Oncology np I am certified as an oncology np also. I had to find my own preceptor. I hoped the school would help but they didn’t - Alum
- Need more engaging professors Need to work more to secure clinical rotations. Utilize alumni for rotations. No other professional program (dentistry, medicine PT has their students running around town for sites) Instructors need to engage with their students more and be more lively and interesting. No powerpoint reading. - Alum
- Enhanced my leadership skills I started the DNP program (Nurse Executive track) in the fall of 2019 and worked full time throughout the COVID 19 pandemic. The close proximity of UT Health and reasonable costs were a major consideration in my decision to complete the program. Learning the DNP essentials has enhanced my role as a leader and helped me successfully implement my quality project. Also, I had great support and input from my adviser. One opportunity for improvement with the program was to rearrange the timing of courses to better support the evolution of the quality project. I believe changes were implemented after feedback from my graduating class. --Three-year DNP alumnus - Alum
