- The program prepared me for certification exam. The program did prepare me well for my certification exam. However, this program had a coordinator during my time that would schedule clinical rotations for every nurse practitioner student. This was very helpful. They no longer have a coordinator and students today are left to scramble looking for preceptors--this is very stressful. I know this through current NP students. When you are going through this time as a student, you need less stress, not more. - Alum
- review overall good, received no assistance in finding preceptor which should be done since we are paying the school for our education and clinical hours are required - Alum
- Not UTEP NP The instructors do not teach, it really about writing papers & getting the format of said paper correct. On-site clinical/learning was a one day joke. I would not recommend school to another RN for NP advancement. The cost for me during the 2.5 yr program ended up being $50,000 which was/is too much. Yet, I was the 1st student to get Board Certified 2 days after graduating (2022)!! - Alum
- excellent program this is a hybrid program where majority of the contents are online, each course (7-14 wk) we have 3 on campus days at the end of the course for lectures, hands on procedures, etc. Therefore it gave me the flexibility of timing myself for study and work (actually I worked 2 full time jobs throughout the whole program until the last semester) and being able to interact with the instructors/students and receiving summarized lectures on the main topics of every course. I found the lectures on campus are more effective for me. The fees are UT level, but I found it much cheaper than some of the online only course (even as UT Arlington), there is no hidden charges. The only struggle for me was to find my own clinical place as I lives in Houston. But the program director was able to find spots in El Paso for those who lived out of El Paso and couldn't secure one on their own. I didn't hear any of us had to pay extra money for preceptorship. I paid roughly 15K for the whole program. - Alum
- Great place Is it perfect? no, but very workable. Was able to keep a job, attend in person classes, clinicals all while pregnant. - Alum
