5 reviews collected from current residents and alumni.- Growth I think this likely applies to the majority of NP programs but our professional training has a lot of growing to do in effort to be comparable to MD/DO training. As independent providers (at least in my state) our DNP training needs to incorporate more clinical training since we are not afforded a residency. In my opinion NP programs should be 2 years of added didactic and 2 years of a residency for a DNP advanced clinical degree. The NP profession needs to unify standards of education and training across the board and utilize the DNP degree for only advanced clinical training. - Alum
- Traveling Traveling long distances for clinicals. Program could use a streamlining process. - Alum
- Prepared me well for my role as an NP I was very lucky to have great preceptors. I felt like my preceptors and professor did a great job preparing me for board and my career. - Alum
- Did not prepare me well as an NP New program structured after their transcultural nursing DNP program. Heavily influenced by trans culturalism and was lacking true NP content. Minimal instruction by professors. Majority of the program was self-study out of the classroom setting. Class days were dedicated to test taking and presentations. Preceptorship was not found for first rotation until halfway through the semester. Preceptorship found was then with adjunct faculty who had 2 other students at the same time. - Alum
- Overall a great school Did have some difficulty finding a preceptor. However, did prepare me really well. Was able to secure a good job right after graduating. - Alum
