- UM Was Fantastic If I could do it again I would go back. The professors were hands on and knowledgeable. The clinical experiences were memorable and hands on. The sim lab was also a great part of the program - Alum
- Excellent experience The school found the preceptor, and I had the opportunity to rotate in different areas and obtain experience. I did the NP program part-time, which allowed me to continue working full-time. - Alum
- Great program It was a good investment and great program. My preceptors were great and I was happy with placements - Alum
- Supportive, Challenging, and Truly Worth It Life in the University of Miami’s Post-Master’s PMHNP program was busy, challenging, and ultimately very rewarding. The professors were knowledgeable and genuinely supportive, and they made the coursework manageable even when things got intense. Clinical placements were solid and gave me good exposure to different settings and patient needs, which helped me grow more confident as I went along. The program pushed me, but in a good way, and I'm left feeling well-prepared for real-world psychiatric practice. Overall, it was a positive experience that helped me move forward in my career. - Alum
- Could be better UM along with every other Master’s level graduate program do not train the students to excel as a new nurse practitioner. The primary goal is to get good passing rates on boards and generate more students. The programs need to be more like the CRNA programs where the students are set up for success once they leave school. There is also a culture among CRNA’s to “pay it back” and help students and teach. There is not a culture like that among nurse practitioners. Granted there are some that do but as a whole I cannot confidently say so. UM does well however to give you the information you need and gives you preceptors and hospital placements. To be honest, I got the same education from an app I paid $200 for access to for two years (Lecturio) which gave me the same if not better information. - Alum
