Worth the Time and Effort
Nurse Practitioner program gives you a good foundation for working in the real world. Specialized as a NP in Occupational and Environmental Health. It was extremely valuable that they provided preceptors. However, there is little to no help post graduation finding a job.

School is school, not the practice

Excellent preparation for rural medicine
The classes, professors, teachers and diversity were wonderful as were the volunteer opportunities. Preceptorships were varied and mine fit exactly with my learning goals, even if some of them were scary at first. Elective classes such as x-ray interpretation, suturing and practical orthopedics prepared me for my goal to be a sole practitioner in an underserved area.
Course design allowed for learning in multiple modalities. I did not work during school but a few of my classmates who were already working somewhere continued to do so part-time. Overall a great experience.
