- Too notch faculty The faculty were inspirational and the camaraderie with fellow students was a bonus. I went on to practice as an NP for 30 years, earned my DNP, and then taught in a graduate program while practicing part times . The faculty at WSU are leaders! - Alum
- Sold Program Toward the end of the program changes were being made to make the transition from nurse to NP smoother. Lectures were provided by guest speakers MDs and NPs still working providing "real life" stories and examples of what to expect. I found this to be a refreshing change and went along way in preparing for my first role as an NP. - Alum
- Wayne State University is definitely recommended The program prepared me to enter my role as a novice Adult Practitioner. Most of the instructors were very supportive and encouraged advancement. Securing a Preceptor was expected to obtain individually. It would’ve been less stressful if WSU secured preceptors. The tuition for the program was expensive but financial aid loans helped. Overall, my educational experience at WSU was very beneficial. I felt more then confident sitting for the State exam given the educational preparation I’d received. Again, job placement wasn’t offer at the end of the program but the great reputation that WSU has definitely assisted with obtaining a job. - Alum
- Wayne State NNP I had to work full-time during school. Although def not ideal, I was able to complete the program and pass my boards on the first attempt. Great program! - Alum
- Great experience so Far My preceptorship experience was both meaningful and transformative. Securing a clinical placement required significant time, effort, and financial investment, but it ultimately provided invaluable learning opportunities. Throughout the rotation, I developed and refined my clinical reasoning, enhanced my therapeutic communication skills, and gained hands-on experience managing diverse patient populations. Working closely with my preceptor allowed me to build confidence in assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based decision-making. I also gained deeper insight into the realities of practice in underserved communities, including the barriers patients face and the importance of culturally responsive care. Despite the challenges, the experience significantly contributed to my growth as an aspiring Family Nurse Practitioner and reinforced my commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care. - Alum
