18 reviews collected from current residents and alumni.- Great experience Overall, they were very good about securing a preceptorship for the students. There was one semester I had to drive approximately one hour for my preceptorship, but was still a great experience. The classes were thoughtful and did prepare me for my future. - Alum
- Great Program Overall, my experience at UT was positive. I do recall several of us wanting more "real life" experience rather than some of the dull classwork we were required to take that had zero influence on life outside of the school. I attempted to work my first semester but it was extremely difficult with this program. My instructors encouraged me to leave my job and finish the program on time, which I did, graduating with honors. We were very fortunate at the time as our instructors found our preceptors for us. We were not required to do this on our own, which I am now VERY grateful for! We were all well prepared for our certification exams and, as far as I know, our entire class passed. - Alum
- Amazing program The program at UT Austin was very manageable in conjunction with my full time work as a dialysis nurse. The instructors were top notch and so very helpful every step of the way. Several also went out of their way to help me out with getting assistance with a personal issue which I had to focus on for a short time during my studies. They helped me find a preceptor and there was no cost for this over and above what I paid in tuition. I am very happy I chose UT Austin for my Master's degree! - Alum
- Solid education, good career move. A couple of the professors were very knowledgeable and good at teaching the subject matter. They did arrange preceptors throughout the program. I did work until the last semester when I had to significantly cut back work hours. - Alum
- Provided a great learn environment Learning was completed in person. The first two semesters were the hardest. The pharmacology class is taught by a skilled pharmacist with significant experience who made it one of the most rewarding but challenging courses. Many people will continue to use his framework years later. The university found preceptors and clinic placement taking off added stress. There were some speciality placements offered, but I would recommend seeking out your own if you want more experience in a speciality other than cardiology and orthopedics. The program hired a coordinator to help find quality preceptors in the area. There was opportunity for group study with other students. I still maintain communication through a group chat with people who I did the program with. - Alum
